Being a natural material, wood possesses an inherent delicacy and sensitivity that requires careful handling and periodic maintenance. Prolonged exposure to sunlight, in particular, can alter the woods vibrancy and appearance - The ultraviolet (UV) rays within in sunlight pose a considerable risk, inducing fading, desiccation, and ultimately, the formation of cracks or splits within the wood's structure.
Mill & Mooch creations are intended for ornamental and decorative use - we advise avoiding prolonged contact with liquids or liquid-based foods, given wood's propensity to absorb moisture. Such absorption can induce warping, cracking, or accelerate fading.
To clean your Mill & Mooch piece, we recommend using a mild soap with a soft, damp cloth, followed by thoroughly drying with a clean towel.
Please be aware that Mill & Mooch items are not dishwasher safe. The elevated temperatures and the presence of water in dishwashers can strip away the natural oils inherent in the wood, thereby causing it to dehydrate and potentially develop splits over time.

At Mill & Mooch, from start to finish, we put our heart and soul into crafting our pieces and this commitment to excellence runs through every facet of our crafting process. As our final step in the process, we use only the best natural waxes, oils, and wood butters to give our pieces that flawless finish. This attention to detail ensures that every little part of our creations not only meets but goes beyond the strict standards for being certified as safe for food.
We never implement any dyes or paints to alter the original colors of the wood, always embracing the natural shades and variations, from deep browns to lively reddish oranges, our creations show off a unique visual charm that's way beyond synthetic colors or paints.
Before shipping each piece is given a final polish with our own brand Wood Butter. This bespoke blend, formulated in-house, is created using 100% Organic Beeswax, Pure Mineral Oil, and Carnauba Wax, adding that final touch with unparalleled quality and refinement to our crafted pieces.
The finishing touch to each Mill & Mooch piece is careful adding our iconic emblem on the underside of every item, done with precise laser engraving.

Over time, the vibrancy of your cherished Mill & Mooch piece may subtly diminish, appearing somewhat less vivid than its initial allure. This natural transition occurs as the porous nature of the material interacts with elements like air, ambient light, and accumulated dust.
Preserving the original appearance of your wooden piece and ensuring it retains its luster involves a simple yet effective routine. We recommend applying a thin layer of Mill & Mooch Wood Butter and delicately polishing it with a clean, dry microfiber cloth. This practice not only hydrates the wood but also rejuvenates its appearance, restoring the vibrant hues and lustrous sheen in just a matter of moments.
